Podiatrist | Chiropodist
I love helping with traditional foot problems such as corns, calluses, painful or difficult toenails and verrucae.
But also have a passion for treating Musculoskeletal problems (painful feet, plantar fasciitis, neuromas) so often these can be cured with simple stretches, exercises, footwear changes and orthotic devices and have such a drastic effect on improving people lives!”
I studied at the University of Southampton gaining a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry in 2007. A lot of the 3 year course was spent with physiotherapists and occupational therapists gaining theoretical knowledge and how to apply a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. As well as the theory we were let loose on the public with our placements in a NHS clinical setting giving us invaluable hands-on experience to practice our new skills.
I can help with corns, calluses, painful or difficult toenails and verrucae. Musculoskeletal problems (painful feet, plantar fasciitis, neuromas) can be aided with stretches, exercises, footwear changes and orthotic devices. Providing advice and educating patients about how they can help themselves as much as possible to retain an active lifestyle.
Over 10 years ago I began my career with the NHS in Suffolk, I was lucky to have a varied caseload of routine podiatry treatments, biomechanics, nail surgery and working at the nationally renowned Diabetic Foot Unit at Ipswich Hospital which gave me instrumental experience in caring for the ‘at risk’ foot. I have also worked in various private settings, including a few years in Canada. Since graduating I have always been a member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
I am a typical farmer’s daughter and love being outside. I can usually be found pottering about with my husband and our young children exploring the Cotswolds or doing DIY to our house. Having spent several years in military housing I love the fact that we now have a place we can call home and add colour to the walls! If I manage to get some spare time to myself I enjoy sewing and scrapbooking.
