Embodied Processing

Gently reconnect with your body and release stored stress.

Embodied Processing

Embodied Processing (EP) is a gentle, body-based approach to nervous system regulation. Many of us carry unprocessed survival stress from past experiences—stress that can get “stuck” in the body and show up as persistent physical symptoms

What Is Embodied Processing?

Unlike talk therapy, EP is a bottom-up approach. It works through the felt sense—the sensations and experiences held within the body—to access and process stress responses that weren’t resolved at the time they happened.

Sessions focus on creating safety within the body (called a resource), then gently moving into the stored stress, and returning again to safety. This cycle supports the body’s natural ability to process and release the past—without force or overwhelm.

Over time, this allows the nervous system to become more regulated, helping you feel calmer, more present, and more at ease in your body.

How It Works

Every session is led by your body—not a script. Sarah’s role is simply to create a safe, supportive space and guide you through what your system is ready to process. Sessions may involve:

  • Grounding techniques to establish safety

  • Awareness of body sensations and internal signals

  • Somatic (body-based) tracking of emotions or memories

  • Returning to your resource state to close and integrate

I had suffered with chronic back pain for over a year and I was at my wit’s ends when Sarah suggested Embodied processing. I had never heard of it, but Sarah explained clearly what was included in the process and demonstrated to me how my body was reacting to stress.

Throughout the 6 sessions Sarah created a safe, comfortable and welcoming space for me to open up about the stressors and release the tension my body was holding.

I was able to realise I was not physically weak, my nervous system just needed time to process the stressors of life.

I have had a stressful couple of weeks and on Saturday had my last day at work. However, thanks again for your help as no matter how stressful it felt, I never got any pains in my body.

I would definitely recommend embodied processing with Sarah for anyone who has ongoing pain and stress’

I’d never realised how powerful the mind-body connection was until I started embodied processing. After years of indescribable pain caused by endometriosis, I started EP hoping to get a slight reduction in cyclical pain. I had no idea how impactful it’d be…after only 4 sessions my pain had reduced significantly to the point that I wasn’t impacted by it daily. Finally starting to feel safe in my body again – and it’s only going to get better from here on in.
