When is imaging needed?

Sometimes, to better understand your condition or rule out certain issues, your clinician may recommend an MRI or X-ray. We only suggest imaging when it’s clinically appropriate and will make a meaningful difference to your care.

Simple Referral Process

Once we decide imaging is needed, we’ll refer you directly to Cobalt Imaging. There’s no extra paperwork or hassle for you—Cobalt will contact you directly to arrange your scan at a convenient time.

Assessment Comes First

To determine whether a scan is necessary, we will first need to examine and assess you in person. We cannot refer for imaging without seeing you, as a thorough clinical assessment is essential to ensure that scans are appropriate and targeted to your needs.

Expert Interpretation

We work closely with our consultant radiologist, Dr. Russell Young, who expertly interprets your scan results. This ensures we have the best possible understanding of your condition, allowing us to manage your care effectively or, if needed, refer you on to another specialist.
