Chiropractor
I love taking care of and treating a range of patients, I think it is important that everyone gets the highest quality of care, and I enjoy tailoring each treatment for the individual.
My favourite aspect of the profession is interacting with people and making them feel better – what better way to spend the day?!
Where did you train and what was the course like?
I trained in Wales at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic. During the 5 year course I faced hard challenges (endless revision and exams) but socialising, hockey and countryside walks with my dogs helped me cope with the stress. One of the main highlights of my time at university was working with a company to complete my dissertation looking at military equipment. My time at university came to a perfect end when on the day of graduation I received the award of “best clinical performance”.
Tell us about your career so far
After graduating in 2019, I went on to qualify as a veterinary chiropractor and created my business ‘ESR Animal Chiropractic’ in 2020. I am also now an instructor at the animal chiropractic college, Options For Animals, which is an accredited course teaching chiropractors and vets. It is fantastic to be able to treat both horse and rider, and dog and owner.
Why did you decide to train as a chiropractor?
I was treated by a chiropractor whilst I was sprint training and was amazed that it could have such a positive effect on an athlete’s body and performance. He gave me the confidence to believe I could become a good chiropractor.
What will we find you doing outside of the clinic?
If I’m not riding my horse, Indy, I’m exploring the Cotswold countryside with my Labrador, Briggie.
What are your aims for the future?
I will always continue to improve my clinical knowledge and skill set. I’m determined to continue to grow my animal chiropractic business. I really enjoy teaching vets and chiropractors, so maybe find more education opportunities.
