Who is

Helen Brookling

BSc (Hons) HCPC MChS
Podiatrist | Chiropodist

I love helping with traditional foot problems such as corns, calluses, painful or difficult toenails and verrucae.

I also have a passion for treating Musculoskeletal problems (painful feet, plantar fasciitis, neuromas) so often these can be cured with simple stretches, exercises, footwear changes and orthotic devices and have such a drastic effect on improving people lives!”

I use the Swift microwave treatment to help resolve the stubborn difficult verruca’s. Nail surgery is also a passion of mine and it’s so rewarding to help to solve a problem.

I have also trained in administering Vitamin B12. This helps boost peoples energy levels and I’ve really enjoyed adding this to my list of treatments.

Where did you train?

I qualified from Q and A University Institute Cardiff in 1996 with a degree in Podiatry. (BSc Hons)

Tell us about your career so far

I have been working here at Dyer St Clinic for the past 2 years and absolutely love the team. Alongside this I also have a domiciliary practice which I started over 20 years ago. Finally, when I’m not in Cirencester or at patients’ homes you will find me in Faringdon working in the clinic.

Why did you decide to train as a Podiatrist?

I decided to train as I’ve always wanted to work with people and to help them. I used to look after my mum’s feet and she suggested it. I then spent some time looking into this and never looked back.

What will we find you doing outside of clinic?

Outside of the clinic you will find me watching Swindon Town FC and watching the darts. I have also taken up a new hobby of learning the drums.

What are your aims for the future?

To become a millionaire, retire and travel the world. In all seriousness, just make the most of life and be happy and healthy.
