Botox Injections in Cirencester

TrapTox & Masseter treatments for muscle tension, jaw clenching, and a softer profile

What is Botox

Botox is a non-surgical treatment that uses small, targeted botulinum toxin injections to relax overactive muscles. It is best known for its aesthetic uses, but it also has a genuine role in easing muscle tension, clenching, and posture-related discomfort.

At Dyer Street Clinic we offer two muscle-focused treatments that sit naturally alongside our wider musculoskeletal care: TrapTox for the trapezius muscles across the neck and shoulders, and Masseter Botox for the jaw.

Both are quick, minimally invasive, and need little to no downtime. A consultation is always carried out first to check the treatment is right for you.

TrapTox

TrapTox relaxes the trapezius muscles, the large muscles that run from the neck across the shoulders and into the upper back. It is chosen for both clinical and aesthetic reasons.

By easing tension and overactivity in these muscles, TrapTox can help relieve discomfort caused by tightness, stress, or posture-related strain, which for some people contributes to tension headaches.

How it works

Small amounts of botulinum toxin are injected into specific points in the trapezius. The toxin temporarily blocks the nerve signals that tell the muscle to contract. As the muscles relax:

  • tension and tightness can ease
  • shoulders may sit less elevated
  • the neck can look longer and more defined
  • posture-related tension headaches may improve

Benefits

  • Relieves shoulder and neck tension
  • May help posture-related discomfort
  • Can reduce stress-related muscle tightness
  • Slims and softens the shoulder profile
  • Creates the look of a longer neckline
  • Non-surgical, with minimal downtime

Masseter Botox

Masseter Botox relaxes the masseter muscles, the strong muscles at the sides of the jaw responsible for chewing and clenching. It is used for both functional and aesthetic reasons.

It may help reduce jaw tension, teeth grinding, and clenching, while also creating a softer, slimmer lower-face profile in people with enlarged masseter muscles.

How it works

Small amounts of botulinum toxin are injected into the masseter on either side of the jaw. The toxin temporarily blocks the nerve signals that cause the muscle to contract strongly. Over time, as the muscles relax:

  • jaw tension and clenching may reduce
  • symptoms linked to teeth grinding can improve
  • the masseter muscles gradually become less bulky
  • the jawline may look slimmer and softer
