WHY WE ARE HERE
Healthcare shouldn’t feel rushed
You know the feeling. You finally get an appointment, then spend it watching the clock, trying to explain everything before your time runs out. Next time it’s a different doctor, and you start from scratch all over again.
Our Cirencester private GP service is built the other way round. You get a full consultation, the same GP each time, and a doctor who actually has the time to listen, examine you properly, and think things through. And because our GP works alongside our physiotherapists, chiropractors, podiatrists, imaging and rehab team under one roof, anything that needs more than a conversation can be arranged without you chasing another clinic.
– WHAT WE HELP WITH
One Doctor.
Whatever you need.
From a one-off worry to an ongoing condition, a private GP appointment gives you the time and access to get a proper answer.
General Consultations
New symptoms, niggling worries, or something you’ve been putting off. Bring as much as you like to a single, unhurried appointment.
Prescriptions
Private prescriptions for new and ongoing treatment, written and explained clearly so you know exactly what you’re taking and why.
Private Referrals
Need to see a specialist? We can refer you privately, often far quicker than the usual route, with a clear letter that gets things moving.
Blood Tests & Results Interpretation
From a single marker to a full panel. We arrange the bloods, interpret them properly with you, and explain what the numbers actually mean, rather than leaving you to decode a lab printout
Dermatology & Skin
Rashes, eczema, psoriasis, acne, and worried-about moles or lesions. A proper look from a GP with extended dermatology expertise, and a clear plan for what happens next.
Sick Notes & Fit Notes
Private sick notes and fit notes for work or study, issued promptly once we’ve understood your situation.
Minor Skin Surgery & Cryotherapy - COMING SOON
Removal of benign lesions under local anaesthetic, biopsies, and freezing of sun spots, skin tags and warts. Carried out in-clinic with proper aftercare.
Ongoing & Complex Care
The same GP, visit after visit, building a real picture of your health over time. Ideal for anything that doesn’t resolve in one go.
Health MOTs & Preventive Checks - COMING SOON
A thorough head-to-toe review tailored to your age, lifestyle and history. Designed to catch things early and keep you well, not just react once something goes wrong

MEET YOUR GP
Dr Gordon Fletcher
MBBS BSc(Hons) MRCS MRCGP DFSRH PGDip
Gordon is an experienced local GP who has spent his career in and around the South Cotswolds. He qualified in 2002 after training at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School (now Imperial College School of Medicine), and started out in hospital medicine, including general surgery, orthopaedics, urology and A&E, becoming a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006 before moving into general practice.
He completed his GP training in Tetbury in 2009 and went on to spend fifteen years as an NHS GP partner in the South Cotswolds. Alongside general practice he has built a particular expertise in skin: he holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University, and since 2018 has worked as an NHS Specialty Doctor in Dermatology, running dermatology clinics and minor surgery lists at Cirencester Hospital and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
Growing frustration with the pressures on both patients and GPs led him to leave his NHS role and set up a different kind of service: unhurried, face-to-face appointments, with the same doctor every time. That’s what he offers here at Dyer Street.
Outside work, he’s usually with his young family, walking the dog in Cirencester Park, taking part in Cirencester Parkrun at a leisurely pace, cooking, or playing drums in a local band.

MORE THAN A CONSULTATION
A GP who cares:
A private appointment is only as good as what happens next. Because everything sits under one roof, your GP can take the next step with you in the room, not weeks later.
The Unhurried Consultation
Up to a full thirty minutes to talk, examine and think, or a focused fifteen for a single issue. Either way, enough time to look at the whole picture, not just the first thing on the list.
Tests & Diagnostics
Bloods, screening and imaging arranged from the same building, not bounced to another clinic weeks down the line. Clear answers, sorted quickly, explained properly.
Treatment & Prescriptions
A private prescription and a clear plan before you leave, from the same GP who’ll see you next time. No starting from scratch, no mystery about what you’re taking or why.
Joined-Up Referrals
If you need our physios, chiropractors, podiatrists or rehab team, Dr Fletcher can point you straight to them. If you need an outside specialist, he’ll refer you privately, often far quicker than the usual route.

– COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you book.
Everything people usually want to know before their first appointment. Can’t see your question? Give us a call and we will answer it directly.
Do I need to be registered with you?
No. Our private GP service is open to everyone. You can stay registered with your NHS GP and simply book in with us whenever you’d like to be seen privately.
Will I see the same GP each time?
Yes. You’ll see Dr Fletcher each visit, so you never have to explain your history from the beginning again. That continuity is one of the biggest benefits of private care.
How long is an appointment?
For a standard appointment, we allocate between 15-30 minutes, depending on the nature of the issue you have. Whatever you need, Dr Flectcher will spend as much time with you as you need.
Can the GP prescribe and refer me on?
Yes. Dr Fletcher can issue private prescriptions and refer you on, either across to our own physiotherapists, podiatrists, imaging and rehab team, or out to a private specialist.
What should I expect from the first appointment?
Time to tell your story, a full examination, and a clear explanation of what we think is going on, then a plan moving forwards
Can I use private health insurance?
We’re a self-pay service, which keeps booking simple and quick. If you have private health insurance, please check with your insurer before booking, as cover for private GP appointments varies between policies.
